Iirc enb and sweetfx presets use d3d9.dll files so if one overwrites the other it wont work,both dll file have to exist in order for both of them to work. You have to rename sweetfx d3d9.dll to other file name and copy that name, open enblocal.ini and your new renamed sweetfx dll should directed as proxylibrary somthing. Im not very good at english so if you dont get what im sayin. SweetFX not working - black / corrupt screen - posted in Skyrim Mod Talk: I just wanted to test something with SweetFX, which Ive used before with no problems, but I cant get it to work now. When the Skyrim logo appears on the main menu I can see SweetFX kicking in after a moment, but when I load a savegame I only see the HUD. I then found that the visuals kind-of worked when I moved / looked.
- Now that we already know people are playing Skyrim on DK2 with VorpX AND also using mods I need to bring this thread up again.
Anyone here who can give advice which mods are good and also run without issues when using VorpX? I am especially interested in those realism-boosting graphics-mods but every advice for compatible mods would be appreciated. - It's been a while since I tried that, so take it with a grain of salt, but ENB graphics mods will most likely work when using the ENB injector, which can be downloaded from the website of the original ENB author. AFAIK, you can use any ENB settings you want with this injector.
The 'normal' versions, which copy a d3d9.dll into the Skyrim folder, will probably cause a conflict with vorpX.0 - thanks alot Ralf! I will try that as soon as I get back from the office!
- @Ralf
Since I exclusively used SweetFX in my games to this point I am totally new to all things ENB, additional HD textures and so on. If I got you right those mods should go fine with VorpX as long as they don't include switching the d3d9.dll. Now I downloaded a pretty huge mod-pack from here
http://extreme.pcgameshardware.de/elder-scrolls/259808-skyrim-textur-combiner-pack-v1-93-complete-combined-all-mods.html
They say to install it you can go two ways. You could implement the downloaded file into the Nexus Mod Manager or you could just put the file into your game directory, unzip it and then confirm every overwriting warning. Since I am pretty sure this would include overwriting the d3d9.dll I would go with the first option mentioned above. Unfortunately I have absolutely no experience with this Nexus Mod Manager and if it's compatible with VorpX. Do you think it could work that way or shouldn't I even try that one because it absolutely won't work?
Beste Grüße nach Bremen! ;-) - I have to check the current state of affairs regarding ENB some time. Last time I checked, vorpX completely refused to hook when a d3d9.dll was present in the Skyrim directory, which probably is still true.
There should never be a d3d9.dll in a game's directory when using vorpX. Many graphics enhancers etc. do this unfortunately, but it's just evil .
What should work however, is using the ENB-injector from the original ENB-authors website.
I would generally advise against ENB mods btw., since most of them are first class performance hogs. Skyrim isn't really fast enough on most machines for 60fps+ in the Rift anyway, at least with Geometry 3D. Most ENB mods make the matter seriously worse.0 - If you use the injector version of ENB it works fine with VorpX.
I tend to run with Z-adaptive so I can use all the extra shadow effects as well, loses a little 3D but gains it back with more realism instead. - Not only does VorpX not work with d3d9.dll present; it also doesn't work with dxgi.dll present, so even if you get around the d3d9.dll problem with the injector version of the binary, any ENB preset that actually looks good uses a dxgi.dll. Anybody found a way around the dxgi.dll problem?
- I've used ENB with Vireio. You'd rename the vireio D3D9.dll (link or otherwise) to something else, and then reference that new dll name in the enb config file. I don't remember the details because I removed it. While it works, it doesn't work well, tends to be less stable in my experience.0
- i have played skyrim in rift with mods fine without messing with them, the one thing that was a bit off was the enhanced clouds they kept flickering but apart from that mods worked just fine no messing about required,..

Hello,
after reading your post comment that you could run enb with vorpx here:
https://forums.oculus.com/vip/discussion/13179/skyrim-and-vorpx-mods-enb-sweetfx-possible ,
-can you please tell me how exactly you used the enbinjector.ini like:
[TARGETPROCESS]
ProcessName0=SkyrimLauncher.exe
ProcessName1=tesv.exe
ProcessName2=skse_loader.exe
and then what line comes next?
with best regards, chris
Been a while since I used it and my Skyrim is a bit borked just now but, I never used the enbinjector.ini at all and I started Skyrim up from Vorpx and then manually started enb up afterwords instead.Liquidpinky

Thank you for the fast reply (I really did not expect that in at least many days !)
So you must have used the wrapper-
-> but how do you manually start the enb after starting Skyrim with Vorpx?
I've used the wrapper for years now and it worked always flawlessly. But as soon as I try to start Skyrim with Vorpx, i get the Warning from Vorpix:
'Possible conflict detected. vorpX may not work correctly. Please rename/remove below files:
..Skyrimd3d9.dll
..Skyrimdxgi.dll '
->Did you by any chance use the DK2 version of the Oculus Rift? Because with it you could use it as a second monitor and just run ENB i think. I have the ConsumerVersion1 of the Oculus and cannot use it like that. - edited December 20160

Both are DirectX injectors which allow you to run extra shaders not supported by the Skyrim engine. Reshade is a generic framework designed to work with as many games as possible, while ENB is specifically tailored to Skyrim's engine. (Boris- the ENB dev -has also made ENB for several other games.
'Love these simple tweaks! The game now looks like it has an enb at times, crisp and clean. 'I rarely comment on mods commending them, but this is easily one of the simplest and best tweaks/tools i've added to my game so far.
Just astounding how much of a difference it makes. Thanks a lot for this, the detail is amazing.'

'I have to say that game looks amazing with this reshade, great work! Endorsed'Bless your face for this! As much as I was enjoying the SE, I was annoyed with how blurry everything was. This makes it much more crisp without any other drastic changes to lighting or colors. Absolutely perfect.' 'Tried a few of these presets and yours is the one I settled on simply because it has the best looking results for no discernible performance loss.
Thank you for your wizardry and helping us mere mortal fools get the most from Skyrim SE:-)'I'm using Vivid Weather and this reshade is just what I needed; Now I can have great colours with high saturation + bloom. This mod appears to fix all my blur issues, plus it takes the overly bright edge off of the bloom, making everything easy to look at and nice. Oh, and there's no performance hit.
Thanks for the mod 'Nothing is changed, and yet everything is different. Proud to give this my first official endorsement.' Hello good Sirs & Madams! Controlla mp3 download. This removes the 'washed out' look the game has, it also sharpens everything, and increases color fidelity without over-saturation.
You will get the clarity back that FXAA / TAA removes, yet still maintain all smooth edges. It's the best of both worlds. I made sure to only use the shaders that have a minimum performance impact. On my 4 year old laptop, I only noticed a 1-2 fps drop overall running 7970m 2GB VRAM. In fact on Ultra settings, I gained 1 FPS in many areas.
What sorcery is this?Enjoy!. Graphics junkies like myself, your mom & sister. (grandma can watch).

Runs 2-4 FPS Higher then when you Wrap SweetFX into ENB (Same settings DOF off) I'm not exactly sure why. Removes washed out 'effect'. Removes the fuzziness that FXAA / TAA introduces.
Excellent c o l o r and fidelity. (Did my best to stay true to Bethesada's vision for the game).
Makes world text and textures 'POP!' . No destructive effect on in game menu text. Compatible with all.ESM &.ESP mods. Will work in tandem with most ENB Presets (that use d3d11.dll API Hook). Extremely Low performance hit. You need to manually install it.

How To Install Sweetfx Skyrim 3
You can download everything but it will take longer to load in when you start the game, I suggest unchecking all and selecting only:Ambient light, bloom, clarity, colorfulness, curves, hdr, fine sharp, levels, lift gamma gain, Technicolor 2, tonemap, vibrance6. Paste BLSFinal.ini into the main game folder7. Get In-Game and press shift+f2, click continue (Use the launcher you normally use whether thats steam or skse64launcher)8. At the top, click the drop down and click BLSSKSE.ini9. Now the shaders should be set and you can press shift+f2 and play10.Optional.
How To Install Sweetfx Skyrim 1
In the Settings tab switch the Usage Mode from Configuration Mode to Performance Mode, might save a small fps percentage(Setting an Effects Toggle Key is kind of nice too, i use Scroll Lock. Good for places that are too dark and you need to toggle the effect for a minute) for a better looking skyrimUninstall1. Delete dxgi.dll, dxgi.ini, dxgilog.txt, BLSFinal.ini, and the reshade-shaders folderThats it:)-Anything below this is for older versions.Instructions: Would recommend switch to FXAA1. Paste contents into the main directory with the SkyrimSE executable2. Run the 'ReShade Setup' and select the SkyrimSE executable (It will probably say failed to copy x file thats fine)3. To Use the more vibrant version just replace the SweetFXsettings.txt in the SweetFX Folder with the vibrant version(Warning more vibrant makes dungeons darker and nights very dark, I would suggest carrying a torch or messing with your in game gamma)4.
